The national leadership score remained at 63/100 in the Oct-Dec 2024 quarter. The drivers of leadership: integrity (+1), contribution (no change), and competence (no change) were stable, with an uncertain economic outlook on the horizon.

  • The public sector was again the highest performer at 72/100 (no change), followed by the not-for-profit sector at 65 (no change), and private sector at 61 (no change). The government sector improved to 58 (+2), showing signs of recovery.
  • The largest gains occurred amongst state governments, increasing to 59/100 (+7), driven by NSW - now rated 62 (+7). Telcos also improved to 68/100 (+5), as did aged care at 62 (+3), media companies at 60 (+3), and charities at 74 (+3).
  • In contrast, emergency services declined, now rated 79/100 (-4), as did retailers at 63 (-4), professional sporting clubs and associations at 67 (-4), higher education at 68 (-3), and tech companies at 59 (-3).
