The national leadership score improved back to its baseline of 63/100 (+2) in the Jul-Sep 2024 quarter. The drivers of leadership: integrity, contribution, and competence also improved slightly; with falling inflation, cost of living relief, and stage three tax cuts all taking effect.

  • The public sector was again the highest performer at 72/100 (no change quarter on quarter), followed by the not-for-profit sector at 65 (+2), private sector at 61 (+2), and government sector at 56 (+2).
  • The biggest improvement occurred amongst professional sporting clubs and associations, which hit a new peak at 71/100 (+9), religious institutions, now at 58 (+8), and supermarkets and grocery companies - bouncing back sharply to 59 (+6) after declining over the last 3 quarters.
  • In contrast, public health institutions continued to decline for a second quarter, now rated 68/100 (-2), as did mining companies - sitting at 63 (-2).
